Wingate skating test

Get to know your skating:

Power.

Sprint capacity.

Fatigue resistance.

“The success in the elite hockey level requires players to develop anaerobic sprint ability, a strong aerobic endurance base, and high levels of muscular strength, power, and endurance”.

- Cox MH et al. Applied physiology of ice hockey. Sports Med 1995

How it works

  • Skate at full speed for 40 seconds

  • A high speed camera is used to track the movement during the test.

  • Power is calculated using validated formulas.

What it measures

  • Total anaerobic capacity

  • Muscle fatigue rate

  • Peak and average power

  • Performance classification

Improve your sprint performance

  • Use the training builder to set your training intervals

  • Use shorter intervals at around 120% of your VO2max intensity.

Asymmetries assessment

Asymmetric movement can be caused by:

  • Muscle weaknesses

  • Tension in muscles and connective tissue

  • Previous injuries

  • Chronic training at asymmetric posture.

How it works

We access asymmetries using kinematics analysis.

  • Left and right Trajectory

  • Left and Right leg Power

Improve asymmetries will lead to:

  • Better performance

  • Prevent future injuries
